MEMBERS' BIOS

 

Robert Montcalm
Artistic Director
Fight Director

Originally from Ottawa, Robert is a certified Fight Instructor with Fight Directors Canada as well as an Advanced Actor Combatant. He has acted in Feature Films, Video Games, Theatre, Television, Chinese Opera, and Western Opera. He is currently the Artistic Director for Lifelong Productions where he has recently mounted two shows in 2014 and another two in 2015. His next production will open in March of this year. Robert believes strongly in building a community of artists, last year he volunteered more than four hundred hours in an effort to form an ensemble company of actors. 

Max Laferriere
Assistant Director

As a French Montrealer, Max has created a name for himself as an actor and a stuntman over the last few years. His love for storytelling has given him the chance to work on many productions including the action feature Brick Mansions, the SyFy hit series Being Human and many Ubisoft games like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag as a motion capture performer. When he is not acting and/or “stunting", Max spends his time chasing adrenaline filled activities. And when he is not riding down a mountain, surfing the ocean or jumping out of a plane, Max write scripts. He wrote and just released a feature film entitled The Badge, where he stars alongside Vincent Leclerc. He is very excited to start this new endeavour with Lifelong Productions with this first play.

Olivier Lamarche

Local Montrealer. Bilingual actor in theatre, television, film and video-games. Producer and Co-founder of PlayShed, a new-ish theatre company who’s inaugural production is playing until the 14th.

Katarina Keca

Originally from a small town no one knows in Niagara, Ontario, Katarina graduated from Concordia University's theatre performance program. During her first year out of school she's working to deepen her work through workshops in meisner and strasberg techniques. She enjoys exploring emotional depth and crying on stage. Katarina also starred in a site-specific performance of Oyster, an almost-one-woman show in which she shoves cake in audiences faces. Katarina is ecstatic to be a part of Lifelong's production of Zastrozzi!

Denise Watt is a Montreal born actor who graduated with honours from Dawson College's Professional Theatre program. Upon graduating she spent two years in Ireland and England working behind the scenes at some of the countries most prestigious theatres. Since then she has worked in Montreal in theatre, film and television, in tandem with working on an Honours degree in Anthropology, whilst raising two sons. In her free time she enjoys writing, interior design and singing, which she indulges in by working as a princess for children's parties.

Having founded Lifelong Productions in 2012, Parker has spent time both on the stage and behind the scenes. His contributions have come as producer, actor, and assistant director. He believes that Lifelong offers theatre that evokes emotion and inspires. Every day he spent working on plays or training with this group inspired him.

Vanessa Nøstbakken

Actor

Vanessa is a performer and musician from Ottawa, now living in Montreal. Vanessa has recently graduated from Concordia University with her BFA in Theatre where she performed, directed, composed musical scoring, and co-wrote for independent and mainstage productions. Vanessa has also worked with internationally award winning company Theatre Ad Infinitum on several of their productions, in sound design and lighting including their production of First Class in the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland in 2009, and The Big Smoke in New York City this past fall.

 

 

Greg is a bilingual actor who grew up in Ottawa, where he found his love for acting at l’école secondaire publique De La Salle in their theatre program. He is now getting his last few credits in Concordia University'sTheatre Performance program. During his time at Concordia he got to act in such shows as Witchcraft, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot as Sigmund Freud, The Seventh Seal as Jof, Islands of Love as Harlequin and Tonight We Play a Soggetto as Sampognetta. He was part of Lifelong Productions when they first formed in 2012, playing Katurian in The Pillowman. He then went on to play Gary in Lifelong's 2013 Montreal Fringe production of Osama the Hero. Now that he’s graduating, he can’t wait to be able to focus wholly on creating theatre, film and art that speaks truthfully to today’s audience. He hopes that Lifelong continues in its creation of provocative, honest theatre in Montreal, Canada and around the world.

Kelly Craig

Kelly got her start with Lifelong during the summer of 2014 on Curse of the Starving Class where she played Ella. She works as a professional model and is currently finishing up her degree in Theatre at Concordia Unveristy.

Lighting and Set Designer

Robert Mallin acts as the Lighting and Technical Director for Lifelong. He also shares the role of Set Designer with Lou Rigoudy. Together, Lou and Robert have had the honor of being nominated for Best Design at the Frankie Awards in 2014. Robert has been working in theatre for nearly four years and attained his Bachelor's degree in Theatre Design from Concordia University in Montreal. He will be pursuing an MFA in Lighting design beginning in the Fall of 2015.

Actor

Christian is a Montreal raised actor who has worked on every Lifelong production. As a veteran actor to the ensemble, Christian understands the importance of irritating directors to the point where they feel obliged to offer him a role.

When Christian isn’t working with Lifelong, he spends his time in nature, reflecting on life and spending valuable time with loved ones. He states: “Lifelong has taught me many things, but most importantly I have learned; life is not long, but very short, you never know when you will be pummeled to death by a hammer, or imprisoned by a paranoid co-worker in a nuclear fallout shelter...c’est la vie.”

Christian also enjoys spending his free time bragging about his one line in X-Men Days of Future Past and reliving the ‘glory’ days playing opposite Jeri Ryan as Lieutenant Klein in SYFy’s Helix (Now available on Netflix!)

Jean-François Gagnon

Fight Director

Jean-François Gagnon is an actor, director and fight director who is a recognized Fight Master and member of Fight Directors Canada. He has directed fight scenes on stage for over twenty-five years, worked as Swordmaster and stunt choreographer for film and TV shows, and served as a consultant for Ubisoft, Cirque du Soleil and other companies.

Emily Tognet has a warm heart though she hails from a cold place. She has studied, performed and created theatre in different contexts for over 8 years. She is twenty-five and lives in Montreal. Maybe you saw her at the Centaur last year. Maybe you didn't. Maybe you'll see her with Lifelong this year!

Marc-Antoine Kelertas
Actor

Marc-Antoine recently returned from England after completing intense conservatory training at the prestigious Bristol’s Old Vic Theatre School. He is happy to be back in Montreal and is keen to explore his passion for storytelling in theatre, film and television.

 

He is perfectly bilingual and has worked in both English and French markets. Roles include: Sean-Michel Daviaux in 19-2 directed by Louis Choquette, A police officer in the new television series Real Detectives; Evan in the French TV show Liens Fatal II; The Prince in The Just For Laughs Special with Howie Mandell; Frazier in JFK: The Smoking Gun produced by Muse Entertainment;  "the boyfriend" in the TV Mini-Series Bullet in the Face directed by Eric Canuel, and the cute college guy in the popular TV show Being Human to name a few.

 

Marc-Antoine is also a skilled stage performer, playing roles such as Proteus in The Two Gentlemen of Verona directed by Chris Donnelly, Odysseus in The Odyssey and finally Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof under the direction of Sam Ellis.

Leah Fong
Actor

Leah hails from Vancouver, where she studied and worked for 5 years with the Arts Umbrella Touring Theatre Troupe, her most notable performances with them being The Adventures of Stuart Little and Much Ado About Nothing. While she is currently studying Theatre Performance at Concordia University, Leah has found a home with Lifelong Productions, having performed in their last two productions, playing Emma Tate in Curse of the Starving Class at the 2014 Montreal Fringe and Louise in After the End. Leah looks forward to working more with Lifelong in the future as well as pursuing roles in film, television and theatre.

Daniel Chichagov
Actor

Daniel is a working cinema, television and theatre actor who is currently living in Montreal. He was first introduced to acting at Lonsdale Smith and Company (LS&CO); an international acting school dedicated to the organic discovery of truthful, grounded acting.

 

He is continuing his studies at Concordia University, pursuing a BFA with a specialization in Theatre Performance. In the last couple of years he has performed in several of Concordia’s main stage productions (Angels in America: Millenium Approaches, Islands of Love, and Tonight We Play a Soggetto).

 

Red Light Winter is Daniel’s second show as part of Lifelong’s Ensemble. His first appearance with the company was in Sam Shepard’s Curse of the Starving Class, during the 2014 Montreal Fringe Festival.

Matt Dawson 
Actor

Originally from Toronto, Matt came to Montreal to study acting and it was there that he met his Lifelong friends and acting companions. Lifelong Credits include: Father in The Pillowman; Francis in Osama the Hero; and Wesley in Curse of the Starving Class. Other credits include Allin A Dale in Geordie's Robin Hood and Young Peer in Concordia's Peer Gynt. Matt is currently continuing his studies across the pond at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Matt is damn proud to be a part of this company. 

 

Lou Rigoudy
Costume and Props Designer
FX & Makeup Artist
 

Lou Rigoudy is a professional Costume/Props Designer who graduated from Concordia University's theatre program. She has worked professionally in set and costume design on Geordie Productions' Robin Hood, The Illiad, and The Odyssey, as well as Lifelong Productions' own The Pillowman (make-up), Osama The Hero (set, costumes/props designer, make-up), Curse of The Starving Class (costume/props designer), and After The End (costume/props designer).

 

Lou is currently working on Lifelong's upcoming show, Red Light Winter, as costume and props designer. She is very excited for it's outcome!

Julie Foster
Stage Manager

Originally from Toronto, Julie Foster is currently studying as a Major in Playwriting at Concordia University in Montreal. She has had her plays performed at the Gala for Student Drama at the Mainline Theatre in Montreal, the SIPA Short Works Festival at Concordia University, the Montreal Fringe Festival, and the SOLOS Festival. As well as working as a playwright, Julie also works as a stage manager, having participated in shows at Concordia University, the MainLine Theatre, and Marianopolis College.

Tudor is a Professional Photographer with a background in film who has recently finished his Bachelor Degree in Film Animation at Concordia University. He has decided to take his studies further by better understanding human emotions and their interactions through photography. At this point his understanding of film and love for photography have created a deep passion for capturing the sincere moments of human nature in a magical way. He strives to perpetually improve his skills and expand his knowledge in order to create images that are touching, motivational or, simply put, awesome!
